Master Cylinder Bore/Stroke
Hey Everyone. I was just wondering what the standard bore/stroke of a Beetle single circuit master cylinder is? Cheers Smiley

the bore is same as the later dual 19mm

Surely someone on here knows?
Is there any single circuit MCs that are bigger than 19mm? IE Kombi or Tpe 3?

I can't find the extra info but there is another size in the single circuit masters. Type 3 is the 19 (19.05 actually or 3/4") Someone in the past
had one around 20 on my notch and it made quite a bit of difference on pedal pressure to the extent of wondering if it would stop you, especially if
there was a bit of moisture around the drum brakes. The book gives a stroke of 36mm. One thing to remember. If you increase the master cyl diameter
you lose mechanical advantage!

PS Found this on another forum about Type 3 master cyls. Haven't got any books to confirm. No doubt it was one of these which found it's way onto
my notch.

With the increase in M/C diameter, the wheel cyls would have to be increased somewhere to give back the brake efficiency. My question is, did they
have larger cyls on front wheels only or back as well??
