Spark plugs
More info required.....is it a bad thing to use "Never Seize" on spark plug threads to ensure they don't 'seize' as such?

does anybody else have problems with ngk plugs in their air cooled engine .....i have never ending problems with them fouling up was using b6hs plugs
but gone back to the bosch ones

Thanks grumble, I'll put a small dab on each plug thread when I put them back in.
I'm going to try NGK plugs...as I have nothing but praise for them in all the different motors I've had before...Chrysler Hemis and V8s, Holden 6s
and 8s, Chevs and all Suzuki Sierras and Vitaras as well.
I have Bosch WCa8 in the bug at the moment and they are definately getting on the black sooty side.

I found a lot of years ago that most of the brand other than Bosch had a slightly longer threads which pritrude into the cylinder and carbon builds up
causing them to pick up the thread on the way out.The Bosch plug may be dearer but the heartache is not worth the saving.The heat range is not always
correct either.

Good point...I will stick with Bosch WCA8 plugs then and just clean adjust them as required.

I used the NGK's a lot when Iworked at the Nissan dealership and the ranges were good for most watercooled cars,stick with the Bosch and you will be
in front.You may need to adjust the auto choke back a little,another thing to remember is that unleaded fuels will always run black as there is no
lead to give the grey colour.Les

I bought a new set of Bosch for our bus a few years ago when it was an air cooled 1800. It ran very bad straight away. One of the plugs was a dud from
new, and I put back in the old plugs I had just thrown in the bin compared to the new plugs. The new plugs had "made in India" on them.
I am using NGK only now in any vehicle I own.
Yes use some Neverseize or Copperkote on the threads.

as long as you dont go overboard with the antiseize its a good thing, it only takes a tiny bit
i've been using it on my engines for a good 15 years now and never had a stripped thread or frozen plug.
my first ever 1600 build is now 13 years old and had several plug changes
also I've always used Bosch plugs but tried NGKs in my 1776 just before i dropped it last and theres no difference in it
