74--1600TP dizzy/carby question

I have a 74 beetle with a 1640 TP and it has a slight flutter at idle along with a small flat spot when you hit the throttle. It is fitted with a 34pict3 carby and has a 009 type distributor. I believe that it should have a vac advance type dizzy. I read some were that this combination I have will give me the problems I am having, I also read the carby mod to fix it, but what my question is does anyone know the correct model carby and the correct model number dizzy that I should have. I am keen to have it idle and accelerate as it should do.
Cheers
RJ

I have this information. Cant remember where I got it from, but I have it anyway.

34PICT-3 VW Dist. 043-905-205 or Bosch 0231 170 034

Hope this info is of help to you. I'm sure there'll be others to jump in and impart their knowledge also.

Cheers,

Norman
