How to fit the hinges with pop out windows 68 beetle?

Well,
I have had these used genuine popouts for a couple of years..
I finally put new rubbers in them and

then got the new hinges, plates, covers and screws etc... still in their plastic bags..

and I have no idea how to fit them...

can anyone tell Me how they go in???

the other end is straight forward... 3 screws..

Lee

PS: looks like I need another 4 small countersunk screws...

All the holes should be in the body. Installation is very easy, I don't understand your difficulty. 4 small c/s screws are required to hold the hinge to the fwd window flange, the screws go thru from the inside into the threaded plate that slips behind the hinge flap.

Hi

The hard part is finding the holes for the latches, I use a long pin with a T on the end, once you find one the others fall into place, once you have the window mounted on the hinge it sort shows you where the latch holes should be

The screws in the hinge can be hard to get started, I use the longer screws that hold the cover in place in the outer holes to get started.

Once you have them in you will be able to do exhaust gas analysing lol.

Steve
