anyone car pull a old vw apart, the tricky part is getting it back together
I would of tried and got it running and go the rat look . When you get it back on the road ,everybody in town would soon get to know you .
because every time you go some where some one comes up and tell you their VW story.
Good luck .

Old bug to go with your old Celica. Sounds like projects that I have attempted as well. Good luck with yours!

I am too scared of going the full strip down with my bug. If you go the way you are it's a journey. goopd luck and Have fun!!!!! with Bob. We need
more dubbers on the road. Plan ahead plan ahead but not to far ahead with your project. I would like to get my bettle to the Drags to show off for
this year but seems like my wheels will have to wait another year. And BTW nice TA22 in the background. Or am I wrong.

Cheers heaps for the comments guys ill try to answer all of them in order lol
.Not a scary project at all really my celica was a bigger job than this one and that only took about ten months. But im looking forward to the vw
stories lol
.I will deffinately update as often as i can.
.Ok the plan Ummmm...... well at this stage my wife wants it pearl orange over pearl white with widened wheels running smoothie hub caps,a retrim and
a bit of stereo gear (WOMEN LOL)
.We thought the Vw would go well with my silly car they are both classics in there own right the celica in the photo is a 73 model i also have a 74
model that im going to turn into a improved production car.
.Yes it seems to be very standard but it does have a fuel gauge is that not normal for this model?
.Awesome a dub at the drags i look forward to seeing the pics of that.
.And lmao Targa Not the VW maybe the sillycar.

Looks great!!
Standards really seem to be appearing everywhere at the moment.
Sorry for my suggestion but I have to say it,...
When you go to fit the new sound system,.. I would suggest NOT to cut the dash to fit the modern head unit.
Mount it underneath, or in the glove box.
I think you might find the car more appealing to more people should you decide to sell it down the track, if the dash is not cut.

Poor old girl is a bitsa, there's parts from lots of years in the mix.
Fuel gauge is an add on, that's why the grille is a different colour.
I used to have the same duo sitting in the shed in bits, the TA22 and bug.

The suggestion form Ian.mezz of the "rat" look would have been a scream. Saw a rat square back a few days ago and it looked great, early model.
But if you go one colour over another it matters not in my view of the orange. Orange is a hard colour to match with seat materials unless you have
black. And orange on its own is a no no. never seen a nice orange car yet but with the pearl under it looks fine. I have never dug the blacked out
tailights though. the mags are fine.
Generally a bright colour a pastel looks great with cream or black.
I saw this bug at Yea Festival its from Wodonga and a nice red wine colour.
Dont know if many VW owners ever fitted LA custom wires like in the rear of tweety but they are real knock on/off and look good but might be out of
fashion now.
Finally, I've always beleived since I owned my beetle 1300 that if I wasnt going stock standard then a rag top sunroff is awesome. but thats my
vintage taste.
