did you go past a big quarry on one of these tracks?
Yeah apparently it is near a quarry......I was told a lot of 4wd guys do winch challenges etc where we were.

Hey - those vehicles look familiar :P
Dave (the owner of the blue Baja in these pics and my Brother!) has suggested that we hold an unofficial gathering in this area for all you off-road types. Is anyone interested? Just let me know and I will attempt to organise something that suits as many as possible. Be aware though - this area is quite rugged so you will need a vehicle that is capable and you will need to bring your own recovery gear (ropes , etc).
I hope that a few of you are interested as I am hoping to go as passenger and camera person....
Anyone up for it?
R
PS: Nice pics Graham! Love the one of Tim touching the ground which is almost level with his window!

They both have alot of lift. Do these cars both have Country Buggy spindles in them or something?
Great photos, looks like allot of fun.
I haven't been to ormeau for ages. It was fun. There are some pics of my last trip here;

There are some pretty spots with good views. You can see in my pics that some tough 4wd's go there.
I wouldn't mind another trip out there. You guys should join the manxclub and make your trips manxclub trips. It's be more fun with more cars

Wes, I am in the Manxclub......and yes I'm trying to convince Dave & Tim to join....Dave is quite keen to have the manxclub do a run to Ormeau.
Ross, you need to get your Baja finished so you can play too....
Mike, both cars are running link pin front ends cut & turned and swingaxle rear ends.....Dave's has a 2 inch lift kit too.
Bash plates are a definate must too.

mmm could take festy, looks like some one car only tracks.....😉 that first shot,, yeah no worries......... :thumb how bad does it get? worse than the 'beginners' track at black duck? :o lol (k showing my wussiness now!).
Ross, you need to get your Baja finished so you can play too....
...er...yes - I seem to keep getting sidetracked. I am hoping to have the EFI thing sorted in the next two weeks (had a break from it as the $ ran out), then its back to the bodywork. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel but for some reason I can't reach it!
Yep, as 11CAB said, Daves Baja (the blue one) is just running a cut and turned stock front end, the back end is just wound right up - body lift kit and huge tyres help with the ground clearance issues. Dave would be running a CB front if he could find one.... Tims car is running a similar set-up as far as I know.
$2.63, Dave tells me that the tracks can get worse than this! He was just having a play - nothing too serious. Interested in coming along for a go?

Hell I'm up for it....
Coun't me in, god i hate mud and the cleaning job after but hey the fun makes up for it !!!!!!!!!
Don't let body work get in the way of real suspension travel
my biggest fear is breaking down or getting stuck, resulting in an embarrassing convoy hold up...... orrrrr getting lo-osst ...
daz and andrew...u guys WOULD be in it - ur cars are indi-struct-able,,, I don't have puncture resistant technology or tow'd bouncin power!
if it's anything like that man made obstacle course....... anyone got a spare seat???? :P
