Comments and Language on the forum.

I’m discussed with the type of comments and language being displayed for all to see. The forum is there to be shared and viewed by everyone. Do we really want current or potential VW lover interested in the forum to perceive us this way? Those members, who will remain nameless, “you know you are” Should have a good hard think before there next posting on the forum. I believe these individuals are bringing discredit upon the forum and the VW scene. I’m interested to hear other forum users views on this. :cussing [Edited on 9-8-2004 by Bone Collector]

Fair enough, but context is all important.

A sly comment out of context, should be kept to yourself.

But, as I type, here & now, there are two threads on the first page that ask for opinions.

This is where it gets interesting.
If you begin a thread with the words "what do you think", you had best be prepared for some sort of negative response as well as the positive.
The "anti" are as entitled to their opinion as the "pro" & THEY HAVE BEEN ASKED FOR IT!!
You can't directly ask for a persons opinion & then spit the dummy when they don't agree with you.
I couldn't count how many times it has happened though.

As I wrote earlier, for the most part, it's the people getting offended that need the attitude adjustment.

Don't ask for peoples opinions if you can't take criticism!

Your car is built to your taste, as mine is built to my taste, not the taste of others.

Fact is, if you like it, you shouldn't give a rats arse what anyone else thinks.

Why don't we all build a bridge and get over it. Lets agree to disagree on somethings. We aren't all gonna have the same opinions or values. It's because we are all different that makes this place interesting.

there is no problem with opposing, contrary, ignorant or any other opinion. I just get a bit hot under the dash when a post has a specific theme and some dumbster puts in the slaggoff..whether it is swearing or not..why can't those pple start their own thread? if they do it to get a reaction, well I'll provide one...then they get all uppity because I or someone else doesn't turn the other front guard..

and I have NO problem with my reaction or language. this latest thread was started just after I reacted to a post put in a thread that had nothin to do with that thread...but the dickhead (not a wombat) who caused my reaction has crawled off some where now and we are still yackin about it...that's ok it is a chat forum isn't it?

I love the colour, I think it's the best that V.W have ever used on the New Beetle. 🙂

The advertisers have butchered it big time ...... It is a really gross shade of yellow ! I am actually embarrassed for my poor car, it's modelling debut and it looks like a sick bridesmaid !

Oh, c'mon David - I was a dickhead. So were you (a bit). I don't think Lee was too much of one tho'. His comments weren't like "New Beetle Driver's are a menace to society" or anything. If you have issues with him because of something else, maybe some U2U might have worked better? I dunno? I'm just a stupid crapper on-errer, so what does it matter? The whole action has been good for clearing up some hidden issues though, so good work I suppose David.
