I'm interested to see what type of vw people dream of. Post pics etc if it's your mates or just a cool pic.
I'd have to say I've always dreamed of owning a Karmann Ghia, ever since I was about 15. 12 years later and my dream came true.
This is my baby, I've had her for about 6 months now and can't keep her off the road.
:puke:cussing🙁:bounce:thumb😎:P😀:o😠🙂
I want a Thing.....always have, probably never even see one for sale. I want to be able to go into an insurance ofice and say 'How much to insure my Thing?'.
I want to drive to a petrol station and ask the attendant to throw some gas in my Thing.
If we're going to the shops and the kids ask which car we're taking, I'll say 'go jump in the Thing'.
Would settle for a country buggy, but I would almost do anything for a Thing....
Pete,
I'm with you there, been wanting a KG for years, started looking for one in the 80's when I could have bought a tidy one for $1750.00.
Happy with the one I ended up with, worth the wait.

Ain't nothin' like the wind in your hair.
I agree with you Dave, that was one nice find. I hope to see her at the DOVW.
Good one PurpleT3, I've always said a 356 would be my mid life crisis ride. I think it would have to be a replica though $$$$.

im with purpleT3 on this one... a porsche 356, or an oldskool 911/912...
or if i suddenly become bill gates... a porsche 550.
my most unattainable dream would be a hebmuller... i wonder if i will ever get to see one in real life let alone own one, who knows who knows...
but i think my most attainable dream would be a sky blue type 3 square, dropped on its guts with gas burners and roof racks🙂

in the beginning, the universe was created.
this made alot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.
A split window Beetle - chopped 4 - 5 inches, channeled. Just to piss off the purists.
Or
a D&S cabrio
or a Drews
a 356 sc or a nice kg or may be a ruby red sbug with custom interior and system

My dream is my splitty....yes i own it but its not finished yet & not on the road....it will be a dream come true the day i register it.
Well if we're talking vw's it would have to be a KG...bit ultimately it would have to be an early 90's porsche 911 turbo with the big flared guards and whale tail.
A vert, Or a ragtop Split bug....
Have to my number 1 would be a KG
2nd would be a thing as well

well I'm a hopeless kombi freak. I reckon if the tattslooto god appeared in me garage I would go the 23 window samba with some sort of Porsche power up the back. Not to mention dropped right on its guts, and chrome everywhere.
"just to piss off the purists"
I hate purists....
.
a fully carbon fibre bodied german looker, with turbo'd 2 litre race motos. but i would also love to get a slit window beetle and make it a convertable!!!!! mwhaa mwhaa!!!
997 porche (the new one not relaesed yet)
I have no sympathy for my car, only the wallet that pays for it!
Go hard or go home!!!!
actually now that I have a kombi and everything, I love type 3's.
I'd love to have a notchback or a fastback.
Theres an absolutely gorgeous fastback that sits in my university's carpark everyday, I drool over it every time i see it.
Oh, and a KG of course 😉
A samba bus, not sure of yearage yet. I love kombis. Those early Porsches are some of the most beautiful cars in existence in my opinion, but I like the practicality of a bus. Then again, that's what a bay's for. 🙂
ever since i saw one of these in a brit mag, i have wanted one.
some people are like slinky's
they have no useful purpose
but they are fun to watch
when you push them down the stairs
A beautiful Hybrid Bay (yeah David - I'm sold now) and a Type 3 Convertable (Rip the roof off a notch).
a 23 window 😀😀😀 dumped and on polished empi fives 😉
Founding member of the C'town Rat-Pack

23 window samba 🙂 would be pretty cool...
or a early beetle/karmann ghia convertible... wouldn't pass up either of them 😀

Now that would be a waste......
N!
the good thing about vw's is that they all are so Kool that ones choice can change by the year or the day.
me ,at the moment a rag top splitty....but then..
:jesus on the seventh day, "he" got into his VW and went on a cruise with his mates.
one that works would be good.
My dream VW without a shadow of a doubt would have to be a factory RHD ragtop 1952 split deluxe with crotchcoolers, dropped on it's GUTS!!! I would then dry-store the original pan and run a custom space framed item (a'la pro stock VW) with big autocraft turbo motor. Set it off asthetically with big porsche disks all round and 18" cups, then... just to be wacky I would whitewall the uber-low-profile tires:kiss As for colour... I think the split era chocolate brown would be perfect for it.
mine .........finished.......!!!!
Regards,Glenn>
I'd have a dual-cab splitty, on air-bags, safari's front and back,
on empi 5's:thumb
a nice 23 window ragtop splitty, dumped on its guts of course🙂
