Hi Guys,
Yesterday, Saturday 2nd October, the draw took place for the winner of the restored 1964 VW Beetle.
Christine Moore, ticket 306, from Milton in Queensland was the very lucky winner.
Thank you to all who supported the Art Union. Plans are already underway for next year's car.
Cheers

Hey Craig
I guess you may not be able to tell, but can you give a clue as to roughly what you think the cost of the restoration would have been?
'Ah, whatever................'
The cost of restoring this car would have seen no change out of $25,000.
For the club, things like bead blasting, paint prep, paint and painting were donated. Other items were done at cost.
One of the added benefits from this project was showing the club members that a $25,000 restoration is par for the course for a groundup exercise. There were a few things on this car that were hidden problems not picked up early on, which did add to the cost, such as rust gremlins, but even so, the budget would have still be around the twenties.
Cheers
Craig
