The bigger the better really, 1000w is what I'm after. Broken is best as its probably free or free ish. Oh and it is car related...sort of,

hmm well first off its dangerous, a microwave transformer will kill you dead without hesitation 🙁 that said use your brain and you will be right 🙂 all thats required is to remove the secondary windings from the transformer and to replace then with your own. In my case I'm running four loops or 4# wire 100amp rated ( 4v due to 1:1 turns ratio) which works out to be lots of amps...well a few.. but not enough as it turns out so I'm hooking up a second MOT and then I should be good to go. I have visions of a portable unit for working on cars but that will depend of the final KVa i can acheive. If i survive i'll do a page for my site which i'll link to.

Man you will push some serious power with that pair. Hope you wear rubber sole shoes....
Check out the old posts there was a link to the dude using the new alternators to TIG, he had a fair few other ideas on the go like this (had made a plasma cutter too)
