To get a professionally built performance motor, how long would you be expected to wait for the build, if you supplied most of the parts.
Just wondering.

Most guys will not assemble a motor for you using your parts .This is due to the guy not making a $ from just labour .

good guys do it in a day easy

Depends who it is, but some guys might use stuff like your crank and rods if they are ok. Still i'd bet at least a few weeks minimum. More time in waiting around for parts, waiting for machining, running around picking up things etc.

Depends how busy they are and how much of a priority you have managed to convince them the job is!

If they do the machining "in-house" it shouldn't be too long - but you still have an outside dynamic balancer to contend with!

1 day.

2 if he sends it away for balancing.

Seriously, he does it this quick and the results are pure joy to drive. Of course, he replaces anything stuffed with new and you pay all the way but you do get what you pay for.

Never tell a musical instrument repairer that, they charge extra because they find more wrong!

In reading your question "How long would I expect an engine rebuild to take?"

I would expect that it would take 2-4 weeks. When you say supply most of the parts, there is often some other small items that will be required.

If it takes any longer than that, there should be a reason.

My opinion anyway
