I do agree with you that you are liable but everyone in there right mind knows that log books are nothing. If you saw my log book you would shake your head in disbeliefe and not once was i ever questioned about it. If you say that the goods will be there on x date and time and it is not you the company will be fined ie. not get payed for the load. Gibbo if it was me I wouldn't of payed them I would of taken the car for a drive driven it in my yard and left it there behind gates. They dont own the vehicle and are only responsible from the pick up address to the delivery address thats it. That way you have the car and they have to chase you for the money. It is a civil matter and the police would not be involved. Then when it went to court you could say about lost wages and damage incurred. Reason I know it happen to me I lost $900 in a load that had the wrong info on it went to x address and no one there had to take it somewhere else thus ran late never got payed and thats the game of interstate. The problem is not the drivers but the companies taking the jobs. Gibbo I hope you never payed them and if you did you can lodge a formal complaint with the T.W.U. who are cracking down about dodgy operators ask for David Prior or Hughie Williams they will have a talk and follow it up. Hope this has helped you out.
Graham.
Thanks for the sermon
But I was driving interstate 6 nights a week when I was 20 years old, until I was 24 then I brought my own Truck and I've had another two since then doing Local.
