Just for the record I havnt got the pass word or have looked at any bad att discussions there but i guess with all the goings on i was right it should go
ok i might of stepped accross the line with low lifes
but thats what bad attitude attracts looking at all the topics listed filling up the forum pages
if you want to let off steam go to a web site that lets you do that if your over 18 thats what there for not VW forum
Ive been in many clubs over the years from Mustang owners to one of the original SA street machiners and they were all for the family not the ..B....A...... you know what fits there
so get back the family forum and user freindly site to the Moderators they made a big mistake with this

If you haven't logged into BA the posts won't appear in Activity.

If you logged in once and you don't want to see them in the Activity delete your cookie and log back in.

At least here we can make the decision to not see certain things. When I log in to general I have to see right wing conservative views and that is far more offensive than people having fun with each other and taking the pi55 in a closed forum.

This may be so, but it is not always possible to give this right to everyone at the same time.

What if I coose to play loud music at 3am, and you choose to sleep? What if you choose to mow the lawns at 8am the next day and I choose to sleep at that time.

What if I choose to wear happy pants amd you choose to wear skin tight vinyl?

mario losing interest fast
Next Christmas, ask for a comma.
Posts directly "bagging" other people, or their rides, tend to disappear pretty quickly.
Discussions, or even full fledged arguements, on the other hand, are entirely different.
That IS what makes it a forum.

It's not a secret that Andrew & I are not on each others Christmas card list.
I don't think he takes it personally, & I stopped worrying about whether people liked me when I was 12.

Hellbus,
I aint going anywhere, but by the same token, I am not about to waste my time looking in the "sealed section".
But I am dark that I need approval to do so.

I am genuinely worried about not allowing certain members into any one part of the forum stictly on the basis of their age.
It is discrimination, & for that reason it is a bad move & it has the potential to become a dangerous move.
It's only going to take one of the younger members to take issue with it, & we run the risk of the entire forum being shut down.

I don't think we should be willing to bet that.
For once, I agree with Spook. However, the Broadcasting Amendments (which unfortunately we are forced under) DO discriminate on the basis of age. So we have to follow suit. The password also has another good benefit - it keeps all the non-VW silly stuff and rampant use of four letter words away from those who don't want to see it.

Yes, if I sent Christmas cards (atheist that I am!), I doubt I'd send one to Spook. I can't agree with all 2500 of you, and I bet there's a set of members who don't agree with me either.

You don't need approval - just send me (or Jim or Brad) a u2u or e-mail and we'll give you the password, no questions asked. I know you're over 18 as I know you are older than I am and I'm no spring chicken.

Mario - I have responded to you in an e-mail privately, but I'll re-state what I said to you in private. If there's defamation or slander, it is not tolerated anywhere on this forum and that includes Bad Attitude. If you really want the password I'll give it to you, but it sounds like a forum which may offend you, and as such maybe it is better if you give it a miss. If you still want the password, reply to my e-mail and I will give it to you.

And therein lies the difference.
This is not "giving" . It's taking away.

************************************************

"However, the Broadcasting Amendments (which unfortunately we are forced under) Do discriminate on the basis of age. So we have to follow suit"

Andrew, let me make this as plain as I can:
BULLSHIT!

We have a set of rules in place.
They make it reasonably clear how members are expected to behave on the forum & VERY clear the penalties for contrary behaviour.

If the rules are adhered to by the members & properly policed by the moderators, the need for a segregated section does not & will not exist.

If the problem is, as you say, "posts which continually brush up against the forum rules', then the answer is "black ball" the member/s in accordance with the forum rules.
It is certainly not to alienate the junior members for something that probably had nothing to do with them.

As for keeping "all the non-VW silly stuff & rampant use of four letter words" out of the main body of the forum.
This is your own preference Andrew.
There is nothing in the rules that says we can't talk non VW, or "silly stuff".
There is a bit about obscenity, but you get around that by not typing the whole word.

As for what people want to read;
I, & I would imagine everybody else, can usually tell if I want to read a thread by the title. If that doesn't work, the first couple of sentences will let you know if it's worth continuing.

If the problem is trouble makers, you get rid of the trouble makers. The mechanism is already in place to do that.
You do not, on a whim, stop some of the members accessing all areas of the forum.
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

Mario...the people in the BA forum are civil at the moment...I think we are just having fun being naughty at the moment while the novelty lasts...but who knows maybe it will

As someone said it is like grown up talk after the kids have gone to bed...I'm sure we'll run out of true confessions soon enough .... Well I am 😉

Honestly...I raised my kids to be open and honest...my husband and I had the most open talks with them and their freinds...we joked (but not obscene...nothing hidden....all with warmth love and fun not harm....they know they can always talk and not be judged...they do and are doing so well

I was raised by very strict parents...I could never talk to them...or if I tried I'd be shot down....I swore I'd never in my life do that to my kids....and haven't....don't hid what you did or who you are...be open and honest....it's not a sin...the sin is hiding and lying...and hiding the true person...that true person is not bad usually but a person who just can't express themselves for what ever reason...

As for intellectual talk (religion and politics etc)...or attempts at it 😀...the people who post are putting up their thoughts....there is no agro because everyone in there has chosen to be there...they are not judging or being offended...as it should be in a true discussion 😎

Maybe the reason we drive VW's is because they are an expression of a life choice...a way of thinking....the represent freedom...the original plan funnily enough....it all goes beyond our rides...I actually think it is fitting for a VW forum to have an area like this....AND yes it is closed for those who may be offended...they don't have to look...and for the under 18's so we're not seen as influencing/harming them in any way...

That is so true Jen. When a political or religious discussion comes up no-one actually gets agro do they? Maybe suppression creats angst and angst creats negativity and that is really no good for the forum.

BA seems rude to some, stupid to some, a waste of time to some, but I have not seen anything negative come from the people using it for what it is.

In fact in the spirit of the BA section, it would be great to see some debate from those that don't like it, in the BA section. Funnily enough they may understand what it is about and have to stand down from their own argument against BA!

Does that make sense?

I'm thinking a little from column 'A' and a little from column 'B'

Some good feeling words in this thread!! keep it up. :thumb

I am not sure I understand the purpose of this BA section though. I have not been but from what has been said about it previously then there is a greater frequency of stong "feeling" words. Seriously who are we trying to protect? People who cant handle the heat or minors, who if they wanted to, could just go to google and type in something even vaguely explicit and be presented with free porn.

The only really valid thing from this whole discussion is the point that a password implies restriction. In this instance i am not sure there is a point in the password as if someone has a problem with offensive material then they should be more careful about what they click on or alternatively be more open to alternatives.

Also If you really look at the title of this forum "AussieVeeDubbers" it is not about the car but the people! If it were about the car then it would be "AussieVeeDoubleU" Thus who cares if people talk about stuff that is not VWs? be social and get involved!

:P 2 u 2 zac!!!

No I can understand the reasoning behind it...a lot of people do come on here purely for the VW information and talking dubbs and some general chat....others of us enjoy other chat...silly at times ...and naughty but it fills in time while we're waiting for something of interest to come up...we have made cyber friends and yes do go crazy at times...

I know once the work was finished on Bel I had a lot less to comment on as far as dub talk goes...I read and am into the social side of things...such as club, cruises and shows....I suppose that were I'm different to the guys...I'm not out in the shed playing with my cars...

I tell you, there's more substance to 90% of the playground arguements involving my Class of 6 year old's than this thread.

And I thought I'd lost the plot. Thanks for giving me a new perspective guys (and you never thought that dribblebrain me would ever be the conservative one?)

Ok, now ive got that out of my system, I wonder if this message will remain Mr/ Mrs Moderator?

.... I dont appologize for any offence taken. All these words are recorded in our 21st Century dictionarys, and for a reason. They have become to an extent socially acceptable. However 'Cunt' is on the border line, and still doesnt go down well at the dinner table - or bedroom for that matter.

Oh, and as much as VW's are facinating, i dont own one, nor do I wish to. I have visited this site purely for green room entertainment in between downloading porn. :party

Is it just me, or does a re-occurring theme of 'wetness' sour your whole existance here on this forum mscabrio. If you ask me, there is an underlying 'dry spell' of the bedroom variety that is bubbling on desperation.

How about you use your imagination to conjure up something more constructive, other than the mindless dribble that resembles the rear tail of a vw at idle.

Ps: ****** loves you.:kiss
