There has been some muttering about the name Bad Attitude. It has an historical reference, in case you're interested:

http://www.jwz.org/gruntle/rbarip.html

However, there have been a few other names suggested, and I'll toss a few in. Select one.

The Misfits Club sounds too close to the Fiend Club - the home of the Misfits' fan otherwise known as fiends...

I don't think there's a place for it here. This is a vw site plain and simple.

Let someone start another forum somewhere else for this.

...I liked the Misfits Clubhouse....unaware of the fiends....

We have had none VW talk on the forum for ages now....it's just that this is a closed area of the forum so that people that don't like reading rubbish don't have to go there...it's really all very tongue in cheek and a bit of a laugh really amongst people

It is a pity that there has been such a reaction to it

OK this makes sense. If bad attitude goes, then so should all small talk and non VW related material. It all should be banned if BA goes.

hothooha? lol thats a red rag..........:duh

I say get rid of it, then all the oddities which have come out of the woodwork will be unleashed back into the general forum. Now they have spent time in thier wilderness camp bonding and interbreeding, feeding the strays, the force will be strong..................and no password...:vader

Lets take a moment to ponder apon that thought.......... 😉

I have to admit that BA has often been hilarious, and quite liberating to say what you think without censorship, but I don't think that access to it is strict enough. The whole point of it I imagine is to reduce the risk of litigation, which it won't do if there are 14 and 15 year olds there.

It has also taken so much reading time away from the topic of VWs. There's no doubt that this is now a different place to when I first visited here a couple of years ago. I still read here for entertainment, but look on other forums for VW stuff. Sad? Or just natural change?

Perhaps it should just be called "Restricted Access", and make it so.

I think the issue is with swearing and unrestrained rudeness, not small talk, but it's true that a lot of small talk would be affected.

Also what $2.63 said^^^^ I'm not sure if it's necessary at all, albeit entertaining.

...I didn't realise that the topic subjects could be seem from the outside....topic activities....yes it could be good if they are not seen there if the BA attitude forum is to be only seen if a registered user of the area...it could be a bit tempting for younger ones to go in and look...and yes it is a bit in your face for people who don't agree with it being here

I don't look at topic activity so didn't notice...

If you use a PC which hasn't got the password for BA set, you can't see the BA topics in Today's Posts.

Unregistered: can't see any of our forums at all
Registered: can't see the BA topics at all
Registered with the BA password: can see the BA topics
Logged off: the XMB cookies are cleared, can't see BA

If you share a PC, this may allow the other person who shares your account to see them. There's also a place you can see them, and that's a very hit and miss affair, and that bug will be fixed when we install XMB 1.9.2.

Here's a test user I created, using a browser (Safari) which I don't often use. I cleared out the cookies and made sure that there were BA postings to be seen if you had them in the browser I do use. The top three posts at the moment are all BA posts.

Here's the image of the no-BA user topic activity. As you can see, there's no BA posts.

This is STUPID!!! The majority of this forum is VW stuff.... after all that is why we all joined isn't it?? BA (or possibly the room formerly know as BA ) is just a little bit of fun on the side. As I can see it, nothing bad has come out of BA. Actually, if anything it has stopped all the BS that goes on in the other threads. I love reading all the shit in BA! And just cause there are some prudish people out there with their heads up their butts, who don't realise that there is more to talk about than just VWs and don't know how to have a bit of fun (albeit a little bit of naughty fun ) the rest of us who enjoy this place have to suffer. If you have been a member of the forum for a while and have met forum members and have made friends either face to face or over the net then of course we would want to talk about other things besides VWs. BA gives us 'outsiders' a place to be ourselves and not have to hold back in the general posts. I am totally pissed that some people get a bee in their bonnet and want to stuff things up for other people just because they don't think it's 'right' or 'PC' or we might hurt someones feelings. Get over it.

Get rid of it.

Although I don't often post in the chit chat and waffle threads (cos I'm anti social), I don't have a problem with people chatting about non VW related stuff.

I cannot see the relevance of viabrators etc on a VW forum. If BA was intended to allow robust discussion of (VW) topics using more adult language than is permitted in the general access areas, it's failed. BA seems to have descended into some kind of purile sex chat room. There is more than enough of this on the net if that's what you're into.

The whole forum seems to have moved away from VW topics. There are people posting who seem to have no interest in dubs, they just want to get a high post count or slag off other people. This used to be a really cool community of people with a common interest who would help each other. Now if you post a question or photo, you're more likely to cop abuse or criticism than get help.

(PS I would also consider toon sex to be pron, would you want your kids looking at it?)

I agree.... that is why I don't generaly post in those threads or even read them some times and I think that is what people have to do. If you have been in BA and don't like it... delete your cookies and never go back. If you like it then stay... as I do... but I don't read or comment on threads that I don't find appealing to me.

BA plays fair because there are adults in there.

Bleatings by a few stuff it up for the many? Remove the few, they can go to www.bitchy.com and play there.

I cannot believe ppl expect to be treated fairly when they dont treat others the same, wanna bleat about how you are so unfairly treated, make it all personal??? well demand your money back and fuck off.

I joined to get some further education and exposure to vw stuff. If I want to talk shit with ppl I go elsewhere. What are we going to do dating next???

I would hate to lose the sale board etc, Could it be a view only, no replies system? Stop any crap thatway, wanna ask a question ring/u2u them.

Jim, dont throw out the whole barrel because of a few bad apples, chuck the apples.

If this forum was VW related topics only, that is if all non VW related posts were to be deleted and banned then this place would slowly die. There's only so many times that same questions can be answered, and only so many modifications people need info on or can share with others before it's all been done. I don't see what the problem is. If you don't like it don't read it and don't go there. simple. Yes this is a VW forum but it is also a community of people and if all we discussed on here was VW topics then it would be very boring very quickly.

...$2.63....REALL!!!! hehehehe 😉 :p

Boozer I agree.....if you've been on here a long time then you've heard a lot before and yes it can get boring.....BUT so many of us are dedicated to our dubbs and this forum IS part of our lives...we meet up at events when we can (and if we recognise each other??!!)

Being silly sometimes is just having fun and filling in time while we wait to post something more meaningful...I'm sure if I stopped starting to log I I might end up moving away from the community...other things might start filling my life... (OOPS...just scared myself!!! :cry)
