What brake combo you using on this beasty, it looks trick.
I am using modified late beetle discs up front with superbug calipers and late beetle rear brakes . I chose drums for the rear as the handbrake is a lot more efficient at the start line . Also using tandem brake master cylinder .

plan to run 1 degree positive camber on the rear and 3mm toe-in on the front . the rest I will have to make up as I go . depends if the bloody thing goes in a straight line !!

Cannot believe how quick you're putting this beast together!
One thing though, is the alloy front end! Aren't they a bit "iffy" for street use as far as wheel alignment.(Pot holes etc.)
And finally do they save about 80-100lbs?
Cheers Craig
I will have to try and avoid large pot holes on the street to look after the beam , but will be pulling it back out to narrow it in the near future . this will also help to stiffen it a little . the weight saved is closer to 35 pounds .

Arrrgghhh youre killing me with the white rubbers !!!!
But its not my car is it, so I'm very happy that you like them.
This is an absolute work of art, and its just incredible how quick its going together !!!
Make sure you post some action shots and links to some video once the beast is firing in anger !
what rims is it getting?
I luv the white rubbers makes it look more like a church goer.
You should put wide std rims on it so you can have white walls to.
That will fool everyone hehehehehe
Yeah, that'd look shit hot !
hey wayne are the headers your using to take the exhaust forward from the heads, are they custom made or are they the stock ones off a 914( type 4 without the cooling fins) cause this is very similar to what i want to do with my exhaust on chaos minus the turbo for the moment. how do they go for ground clearance. btw i wasnt bagging you before just saying that it would be in the grey area of the design rules.

rear quarter view of the BRM's . unfortunately due to excessive wheel track problems in the front end , stock 4-stud rims will be used at the VW drags next week . this will be rectified by narrowing the front beam shortly after this event and the BRM's also fitted to the front in 5-stud

wayne i noticed the blow off valves go to atmophere for reg don,t they need to be recycled back into the inlet system for induction noise.

a 1967 beetle doesn't have to comply with any AUSTRALIAN DESIGN RULES , so I am not aware of the legallities of venting the blow-off valve to atmosphere ( it is only an air pressure relief valve / NO FUEL ) . I will have to see what the engineer has to say and what it has to comply with for engineering purposes . Thanks for the comments though !!:duh

today I spent the entire day doing all the crappy little jobs that needed to be done to complete the oval job properly . All of the factory wiring at the front of the oval is now repaired and connected ( headlamps , speedo , switches etc ) . I then manufactured the dump pipe from the waste-gate to the 3" engine pipe and welded it in place . After fitting up the engine pipe I then assembled the rest of the exhaust system and did a final fit-up including manufacturing support brackets . and finally fitted the battery box and did a dummy fit-up of the internal housing that will cover the turbo assembly . the box still has to be welded together . Eaton Fluidpower @ Unanderra manufactured and delivered the oil pressure line to the turbo and Fred @ Turbologic has the oil drain hose that I will collect on monday . all going well the oval should fire-into-life on monday afternoon . first pic shows the dump pipe welded to the engine pipe
