What was the difference between the motors in the beetles, kombi's and the karmen ghia's
Just size or more worked top end or the whole motor worked . Maybe designed different. Iam assuming the carby set up was a lot more refined than the rest of the VW range.
May be a better motor drivetrain combination ❗
What was the first and last year they were made
No reason, just wondered

VW'S DON'T LEAK OIL, THEY JUST LEAVE THEIR MARK !!!
Beetle and Karmann Ghia engines are the same, except for the air cleaner. Early kombi engines were bacically the same too, 1500 Kombi engines from '63 did have a governer fitted under the carb.

1600 twin port Kombi engines had a rotor button goveror usually 4500 rpm, I think some Type 4 engines had them too. 1500 splitty engines had the govenor under the carb.
