Coopgirl and I have been talking to Pete's brother Tony and we'd like to try and organise a run Pete's hometown of Newcastle.
Possibly a cruise or some such with a donation for Pete.
Please contact either of us or comment here. We don't know Newie that well but I'm sure some of the locals will have some ideas.
Pete's brother will be heading over in a few weeks to join his parents who arrived yesterday to support Pete and Melanie. So we need to get this happening before Tony leaves.
How good would it be for Pete to see a strong show of support from Oz.

Mat, 10 points for effort, but i dont like your chances, get intouch with the dnvk to get sum help ...... but you wont have much luck just organising it here through the forum..... not many of the newcastle people are online.
We are happy to be knuckle deep in organising it - just trying to start news starting here.

Matt i am sure there is a few people who would join this cruise up here, but i am not sure how to work it out.
I have been on a combined clubs super cruise before from sydney to newcastle. the newcastle guys meet the people from further south at the twin caltex servo's on the freeway, then they cruise together back to newcastle then they do a show sorta thing in a park in newcastle.
This was done for a charrity thing to.
Was pete involved with the hotrod scene?
if he was maybe organise a combined cruise with the hotrodders and the dubbers.

Start of in Sydney, stop off at Berowra to meet up again, rejoin the F3, and then pick up others at the Warnervale McDonalds. Then cruise into the centre of Newcastle and onto the foreshores???
Squiz.... that's exactly what we are gonna do but if you don't mind I might email you for some help as I don't realy know the area up there.

Ok... we got some details nailed down.
The cruise/bbq will be on Sunday 31st of July.
Leaving from Thornleigh Maccas, to Berowra to meet up with more, the Ourimbah twin Caltex to meet up with the Northies...
Then on to Speers Point Park for a bbq - BYO as this is a benefit run for Pete.
Pete's brother Tony will be there and will jump in a car to join the cruise.
Tony and the rest of Pete's family are over the moon that us Aussies will stand up for Pete. We are hoping that all those coming along can make a modest donation towards Pete's extensive medical costs. A little from a lot of us will make a huge difference for one of our Aussie brothers.
More details as we nut out the details...
