i think you might find chicken teeth easyer to get hold off
as to cut the frame of a vert would be sacralige

Check Samba as I think there is one on there at the moment. From memory it looked like it had been cut off about 2/3 of the way down from the top corners.

Looks like a coupe is getting turned into a cabrio. Good luck
Raf
Nope, it's the real deal, factory RHD too!
Thanks Yogi, I will try and find that ad. on samba. Its the real deal but has suffered some damage around the base of the windscreen posts at some time in the past and poorly repaired, but can be rectified if replacement sections are too hard to source. Its only metal!! Tonz
I just had a quick look on samba and couldn't find the one I had seen but there is this 70 model rolling shell for US$300. He may cut out the frame for you if you pay him to do it.

hi
dont forget the vert frames differ from 60-691/2
they have hook type locks
691/2 they changed over to pin type lock on top of window frame
so the 70s one no good to him and the early ones are so hard to get anywhere
good luck

Any help out there ?? Cheers Tonz

Thanks AL, When am i gonna get a look at your new project ? Tonz
if you call Arie on 02-42711179 ( bus hours ) he may be able to help you . He imported 2 ghia cabriolets from US some years ago , and I recall that the morons that were shipping them in US cut the windscreen sections off both cars to fit 2 of them in 1 shipping container . Arie was so pissed off !! He is the type of bloke that hoards everything ,so I am certain that they will still be there . 1 of the ghias that arrived was so rusty that he was never going to restore it . GOOD LUCK !!

Try Max from Dandy Volks in Dandenong. He has been repairing Ghias for years. He might have one.
Raf
Thanks Hypo and KG 60, I will look into both your tips. Fingers crossed!! Tonz😵
Tonz, you have a u2u
If you are still looking, I found the original ad on samba I saw. It is for a 60s cabriolet but is cut off a few centimetres from above the base of the dash area.
Anyway, here is the link to it

Thanks Yogie, I checked out the samba ad but ideally need more of the base of the screen surround to justify cutting up the ol' boy. If i can get some good goggles i might take the whole screen off!! No more trouble from window washers at the traffic lights!! Cheers Tonz😂
