For me in sunny, stinking hot Qld summers, is aircon in my Bay Window. Have bought all the bits. Just waiting for them to arrive and then I'll start to play. My children and wife will be eternally grateful for changing the sauna on wheels into something civilized.

i saw a 911 turbo the other day, on the deck with the fat brakes underneath it.

it wasn't hard to imagine a 60s beetle with the same treatment. i'd chop the roof, install a set of recaros, put in the 911 dialls and that would be about it aesthetically.

i m almost finished building mine, but if i had infinite time and money, i would drop the body onto a late 80s 911 to get the best of both worlds.

running gear, brakes, a/c etc but with all the hard work thats gone into my bug.

Your car is never finished, I have a wish list for it still, but it is very close. I did everything on my car but paint it & even then I used the barter system to get it done. U could easily build my car again for 10grand.
regards
Jak

Got a 73 bus, stock as a rock.
It's battle scared & seen better days (a lot like it's owner).
I've driven 900 kms on three cylinders & 100 kms without top gear.
BUT, it's failed to get me home ONCE in 13 years.

What more can you ask??
Well my friends are gone & my hair is grey, I ache in the places where I used to play.

I know beetles are soooo derivative, but anyway. Here goes. Early 60s, with a very big motor with forced induction of some kind, maybe Subie but maybe aircooled. Air con and a nice stereo. Classic lines but big scary power for wasting idiots in clubsports. :thumb
