My Pretty Blue Bug! Finally, I own my obsession! Since having first laid eyes on this 1970 Auto Beetle a few months ago, I have wanted it. I sold my 2003 Honda CR-V Sport for this Bug, and now it's mine! I'm soooooo happy, and it's so fun to drive! 😀 🙂

Seriously, looks good! The vent surround is trick - match it up with rear vent chrome clips too? Maybe you should get some chromed BRMS or Mangels.... hehehe

...and Robert's ya father's brother...

Yep, have got chromey rear vent ones too. Shweeeet!! :P

I'm actually wanting to polish the rims she has on now. Want to get them sandblasted, then I'll make 'em shiny..... but I need a set of wheels for the interim.
Any ideas?

heh, i just noticed on your avatar! though I meant the vent under the rear windscreen... I've said it before!- bling is good!

ask around here for a set of interim rims... there's bound to be a set of 4 studs with rubber sitting arouind doing nothing.. borrow them for a slab of something?

I've decided against polishing my wheels, as much as I'd love to have them done. Seems either way that if they're scrubbed to buggery with thinners and wet-sanded, or if they've been sandblasted, there's just too much time involved. D'oh! 😢

So....

I have 5 days to re-paint them and make them shiny. More than enough time me thinks. 😎
I'll post some pics of the progress...

I should thank my wonderful tyre guy Andrew in Rowville for fitting my tyres onto these yesterday when they were closed... I know he was concerned as to why I wanted them changed in the first place! 😂

I'm a bit achey now..... 4 hours of thorough wheel cleaning, scouring off grease, paint removing and then primer-ing the wheel faces.... 🥲 I ended up saturated from the hose but it was all worth it!
