cheers toecutter for the fine pics..it was fun driving out with all the serious lumpy cam hot rods and dragcars last night...was great being part of and we did,nt loose any face for the VW scene..people really liked to be able to walk around and poke their heads into our rides..was no other display like that..all where roped off..will post a pick of my fav for the show later..a rat look Ford pick-up with Hemi..had something all the shiny cars seemed to have lost...even my bus...though mine had to be fixed and painted...hope for some more rats there next year..maybe my 60 Dual cab..??.. ciao k

Was a great display, well done! The fact that you could poke around the cars was great, as was said earlier, all the other displays were behind bunting.

Best display of the show!

cheers,
James

Taking pictures of nice cars is easy. Glad you all liked them!

I gather the next VW event for WA is the end of the VW club of WA, 50th Anniversary party which will be in December some where? Hopefully there will be a few more classic's hitting the streets.

I think the rat Ford pick-up looked so good was because of the those huge chrome heads sticking out from the motor. It made a v8 supercar motor look small.
Here's to next year:thumb

I think the next big Dub event is the SHANNON's Day of the VW at Burswood..Dec 11th.
Though i am thinkin I might get another small run in when uni is finally done for the year...
Possibly up to "Hamburger Hill", for some 'sunset-ova-city' action....

Will keep you posted....

Hey ByronBus...Its a good call on covering this display in VWMA...But I dont think Craig would want to put a HotRod show spread in the mag, even though a bunch of showed up to display...but you never know...Brian White was there and he's a Dub dude also!

I so love this truck...I got to chattin to the owner about it....He said when he took it over the pits to get it rego'd, the inspectors loved it...Its all new underneath of course.... He says the steel is of such a high quality, that it hasn't aged a bit....The rust just doesn't get any worse!...And yes he does drive it, but he does not let water sit on it for too long....no long cold nights in the driveway for this truck..

Hey Proctor....

The bus in question is Antony's work bus...And the green is the OG Army green the bus has had since the sixties...

Find out what the army use and your there...Antony had to match it for some minor repairs, but as far as I know, not code was available....

I guess a good place to start would be the olive drab colour range and then add some matting agent...
