Thanks guys! I got a comment from the MAN himself. Your ride is about as perfect as it's possible to get Dasdubber.
And Beerdoc, you're right about having a girl to help you out with your hobbies. Especially one as talented and nice as mine🙂
And thanks to Barry as well, who is sending me some centrecaps for my wheels, from the goodness of his heart - you're a champ!nn[ Edited on 1-8-05 by EgeWorks ]

Thanks again guys. It's good to hear so much positive feedback! Sure you can come for a ride anytime Damien. You have U2U.
Well this week I got some fat new torsion bars put in and lowered the back at the same time. Much thanks to Steve Carter for the bars.
I also put on some centrecaps which I have been waiting ages for. They really finish off the wheels well. Thanks Barry.
Sorry my ride is a bit dirty but it's been bucketing down all week here in lovely Melbourne...
Very sweet
I am a little jealous and I certainly won't show Vern and of these pics cause he would want some "work done on him"
That finishes them off! 😉
If you look back there is a pic of your can in almost the same spot , and has your car changed!
Looks good.!:bounce
Futue te ipsum!!!
It sure has changed a lot. There are still lots of things to do though. I'm not sure what the next thing will be, depends on time and funds. Maybe some ratio rockers or pop-outs.
U got a good security system on that thing? I would be crazy about protecting it. I would have proximity alarms/warnings and everything, wouldn't want people talking the caps, wheels wateva really. Maybe thats an idea to invest in. Just a suggestion.

69' baja: kombi box, thing spindles, irs, disc front, type 3 rear drums, 2 inch lift kit, 31x10 rears. 👍
New engine in process: 94mm p&bs, 74mm C/w chomol Crank, 35.5x39 SP heads, turbo. Wierd combo, hopeful torque monsta!
Haha. I got no security on it at all. I've actually left it unlocked for days at a time I'm embarrassed to say. Lucky I guess. The wheels don't use a normal stud and the the caps can't come off unless you take off the wheels.
My bro has a VH Commadore which is parked next to mine all the time, it has been vandalised a bunch of times and nothing on mine. I guess thugs around here think VWs are crap...
Worst that has happened is people opening doors into it in carparks. That annoys me no end.
Luck runs out eventually sweetie. I love your Bug as much as I love mine, and would hate to see anything bad happen to it.
pop outs would really suit your car:thumb
Futue te ipsum!!!
As soon as he finds popouts, I will be there like a flash to help put 'em in!!
They'd definitely suit it! 😀
man that is the toughest looking super i have every seen! 🙂 it just keeps getting better and better!

Got these on over the past two days. 36IDFs. It was the WORST job. No end of trouble fitting them. Anyone who is thinking of doing it for the first time - take out the engine! It was really hard to do inside the engine bay. Still needs a good tune but at least it's running!
BTW I need a longer hex bar, anyone have a spare they would like to sell?
I also rewired the engine bay - 30 plus year old wires are very brittle! It was a wonder the car even ran...nn[ Edited on 23-9-05 by EgeWorks ]nn[ Edited on 23-9-05 by EgeWorks ]
Haha. I just realised I still have the hardy home job oil breather fitted... got to put the proper one back on, of course it needs relocating like just about evreything else when you have twin carbs...
Oooooohhh!!! Look at it! :kiss
Not much more can fit in there now! 😉
It looks meaner.... but it's still a Beetle... too cute to be 100% mean! 😁
Yummie
Make sure them bolts are tight or she be no good
A have seen holes cut in the sides to make mounting and adjusting easier cause the motor wont come out with those big boys on
:beer
Cheers Doc
reVOLKS at Fyansford Geelong
20th OCT 2007 STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS
I did cut holes for idle adjustment and spark plug removal. The bolts are a real pain, the ones on the inside took a good 15 mins each but I'm pretty sure there are no air leaks.
I can tell you, I wouldn't like to have to do it again. If they need to come off, or the engine out, I might have to give in and get someone else to do it. They sound sweet though!
Sweet isn't the sound I'd use to describe it's purry rumbling goodness! 😵
I bought Eden these polished aluminium billet running boards as a Xmas present, and had to let him have them early since they look so good! :P
👍

Awwww......only ONE picture!!
C'mon
They look great!
Been thinking about them my self
Futue te ipsum!!!
I have many more I took during the installation process..... I knew I should have put a couple more up! :P 😂
Ask and you will receive Barry! I have to say I was impressed with the quality of the running boards, well formed and welded with good thick mounting brackets and a great finish. Better than most new Empi stuff I've seen.
I also put this in yesterday too! Splitta fans you can bag me out all you want!
I love that badge.... :P
That badge looks great, I wondered why you guys bought it from the swap meet 🙂
The running boards look schweet too!
Time is a great healer. Unless it's a rash, then you're better off with ointment.
Thanks Tracy! How's the engine swap process going on yours?
