I did a search - not much to read on 1776's in general.

What's peoples thoughts on the 1776 compared to other options?

Comparing-
*Reliability *Cost *Performance *Torque *Sound *Etc.

Thanks in advance?

PS- I also posted this question on Offroad as I'm a baja owner and proud.

OK seriously dude

Great motor
Stock crank, solid thick pistons etc etc

What carb etc are you thinking.

Dont discard 94's though. These are just as reliable.

Thanks Anthiron - It will be good to hear how your goes and how much diifferent it is.

I will stay with the single PICT34 and mabey keep or replace the dual cannons. No twin carbs for me. Too much hassle in the sand.

Consider a mild cam
A good fully merged exhaust also makes power

You will get 25-50% over stock power at the wheels

Thanks Biz for the U2U. Much appreciated.

Does the mild cam give the motor a bit of a lump in the idle like in V8's and produce more top end power or are they smooth and bring in more bottom end. I have read that cam can make the motor run a lot more hotter. Is this true?

It all depends.

A wild cam will push the power band up to the higher end and make the lower end run like crap.

A mild cam will move it a little bit.

They say it is "all in the combo" but i believe it is the cam you choose first. This determines WHERE you make your power. The heads and carbs allow the power to be made.

Although i dont suggest or support Engle cams i will use them as an example.

A 130 will make power up above 6k or more - and you will need heads and carbs to breath up there. A 34 pict and 040 standard heads just wont deliver

A 100 or 110 at 4k wil be tuneable with a 34 pict and 040 standard heads. Will make more power than a stock cam
