I have put at Solex 34-3 carby on my 1600 BAJA about 2 months as the carby I had on it was 31 which was set up for a 1300.

I put a kit through it before I put it on.

I was playing around with the mixture screw, With the engine running I can screw it all the way in and it makes no change to the revs, I thought it would increase a little as it leans out?

The cars seems to a bit heavy on fuel as well.

Any ideas would be great.

Thanks

Marc

Hi,
Did you clean and throughly air blast all the passages/jets when you put the kit through it?

What about replacing the O-rings on the screws?

Throttle arm set correctly?. Lot's of little feed/vac holes near the where the plate stops.

Slop in the throttle shaft? That'll kill one of these carbs.

Rob and Daves site www.vw-resource.com has a great article on proper set-up of the 34 Pict 3. You have to set lean best idle using both screws.
