just a question, i have these adjusters

when welding these onto me beetle beam, and cutting the slot to allow for the adjustment.

here the bit im stuck on do i have the original position of the bolt hole line up in the middle of the adjuster the top of the adjuster or the bottom of the adjuster (the top being the part of the adjuster that would be at the top of the car when the beam is installed)

thanks guys

Barry from memory you have to use the one supplied as the thread in UNF not metric as they make these adjusters for the US market and ODNT like metric threads for some strange reason.

You can use the origional center section ( like i did ) but you have to geta Metric thread set screw
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true

yeah good point

You have to cut a groove where the dimple is taht holding it in place
then side it out the tube

Of course this works best when your also narrowing the beam

yeah it does pose a problem

If you fit the adjusters with the bolt in the position of the original bolt, you will be able to adjust up and down and aslo to soften or stiffen the spring rates.

If you set one to adjust up only and the other to adjust down only, you will be able to soften the spring rate for a light fronted buggy and then be able to raise the front end when you go bush with extra loads to carry.

I had my adjusters set to raise the car only as on my buggy I had a soft set of torsion bars.

It all depends upon what you want to do.

You can buy complete front ends from Brazil with adjusters fitted for around $600.
