work in a polymerization plant convert gas to a polymer powder then granulate it.12 hour shifts 4 on 5 off.been doing it for 17 years this year before that panel beater.
12 hour shifts were abolished for us after one operator had a fairly serious car accident when he fell asleep on the way home in the morning.
I'm not sorry to see them go. I've been doing this for 5 years and before that roadworks labourer/machinery operator.
Hope you get a break soon, I'm off for three whole days now (well, including today).

we do 2 ,12 days 0700 to 1900 then 2 ,12 nights 1900 to 0700 then 5 days off but 1 shift 2 days 1night 5 off 1 day 2 nights and so on I hate straight day shifts on our roster we work 157 days a year plus call ins
Nice! Our roster rotates over 5 weeks, but due to training commitments and upgrade projects it's never really set too fast.
We work 38hr weeks except for fairly regular call-ins/overtime.

our roster is a 5 week cycle but 35 hour week theres a utility day thrown in 7 hour day to make up the 35 hour week and 5 weeks anual leave ,but in 12 months we have gone from 13 a shift to 6 and we are owned by chemchina part private & part chinnese gov
