Can someone who has one of these,
tell me how much extra oil these hold,
and how much do they hang down.
Also cost?

Just measured mine; height from case base to lip of plate is 55mm (+/-5mm because it was a bit hard to reach in the rain!)

They hold another 400mL or so. Not sure of cost

This type of sump extension is standard clobber on every Formula Vee.
We are allowed to have up to 500Ml capacity.

Why dont you make your own for next to nothing. everyone else does. No brainer!
Stan wont like this but hey!

With a 3" metal holesaw, remove the sump plug and cut the guts of an old stock sump plate.
Wizz down to your friendly zorst shop and get a length of 3" zorst pipe.
Braze the 3" pipe length onto the now gutted sump plate. Retrieve the gutted bit of the sump plate, complete with the sump plug thread and braze that to the bottom of the zorst tube.
Grab a length of steel or copper tubing the same dia as the stock pickup tube.
You can either flare the end of this tubing or simply use an adapter sleeve. Plumbing shops carry these pre-soldered, just add heat until the solder oozes.
Solder/silver solder, braze/weld on an adapter sleeve to the original pickup tube and then add the length of copper tube to suit the depth of your extension.
I make mine a poofteenth short of the length as the extension but also cut the end off at about 45Deg.

Voila! One sump extension that takes about 2 hours to make and will cost you close to bugger all!
Bonus is you still have the original sump plug in there and its a simple matter of drilling the flange of the original plate and the plug to safety wire it to keep marauding scrutineers quiet!!

My second engine has a really trick, finned sump extension machined from a solid chunk of ally!
Looks trick but only does ther same job as my 2 bob steel item made from scrap bits.

Have fun

Yer sure M8, its a simple matter of welding a small nut to the side of the tube and the drill out and tap it for whastever size and thread your sender needs.

You could do what Tas said but with Stans sump you run the stock screen, thats a bonus in my opinion plus Stans are an absolute work of art inside and out.

No, it has a deep sump.
I was looking for a little more capacity than 300ml, but didn't want to reduce my ground clearance by that much.
The oil is all in the rockercovers at the end of the run.
I could make something similar, but in a larger diameter, but
I think a dry sump is the answer.

I had similar issues with mine as well.!

I also had problems when I was hooning around on the street.. Gettin a little sideways, it would drop oil pressure, my alarm went off and I sh&% myself.

Got the sump off Stan and all was good.!!

Hehehehehe then youd definitely shit yourself driving a F-Vee even with a 500ml sump extension.
The oil pressure stays below10psi for a fair percentage of a lap of Baskerville.

It doesnt seem to ever hurt the engines tho...............but that red light staying on for interminable lengths of time @ 6000RPM....eeeeyew!
After the first few meetings you end up ignoring thAT blasted red light................

Put restrictors in your pushrods or use an oil pump that won't suck your sump dry. Easy, knuckle-dragging V8 stuff...

Thanks for the info Daimo,
I recall reading that back in the ninetys, I love stories like that.
Am going to test the car with some small mods,
and may do those drain pipes if the prob is still there.
The Pauter sump is not real simple to drain into with all its ribs and bolts,
but any thing is possible.
The yanks add a small stage to their wet sump pump, just to drain the covers.
