what should I use to get the door window winder circlip off? the grooves it's in is so damn skinny, that no pliers I have can get in there. Any clues?

PS it's a '65 notch, and i think the 60's beetles have the same ones...

the early beetles has a small pin driven into the shaft...

I can't remember coming across a circlip...

You can get the circlip pliers that come with 3 or 4 ends,
so You can use them for different sort of circlips
these are approx 4 mm thick..

Have You tried to get a small screwdriver under the middle of the circlip?
I have ground down some screwdriver tips so I can use them for this...

best of Luck

get some thin metal sheet n cut a slot in it to fit the width of the slot in the winder handle and push it out that way
I read it on FACEBOOK so it must be true
