Yeah, there is plenty of them around eh?
You're not wrong... example: Holden Statesman 9.30am this morning, wire hanging out of his rear tyres. Green P plates. 5 heads on board, car crabbing sideways with obvuious steering/alignment problems... At least the pimple-faced kid driving didn't tell me to f*ck off when I said he should check his tyres!!

Oh yeah, top rat, Hertz!

Beelte looks great ... the police force has two parts as far as I can tell, some that are dedicated to preventing and solving crime, and the other that is rostered onto fund raising ventures.

RBT for example ... if its a slow night, they are happy to pull cars to the side and 'look' for a problem ... such as not having a locking engine lid on a 67 bus, $77 thank you. Nothing to do with safety or preventing crime, pure bullshit.

In my opinion, just about anyone is fair game if they are running an RBT or long weekend hassle station ... so yeah you probably will get fined. But driving along? - unlikely.

There seems to be a few holier than thou types in this thread and that bugs me. People beliefs are shaped by their experiences. Like most people the only police we will ever meet will be involved in traffic branch in some way. I've run into quite a few as a younger man and as a motorcyclist 🙁 and I can only agree with the vast majority of comments thus far. However that said I happen to have gone through a Psychology degree and most of my mates went for this type of work, and based on conversations with said friends I can only speculate that police, like most of us can be bothered dealing with these draconian personalities, so they give them a car or bike and send them on their way so that the world on the whole has to deal with them less. Its a shame from a PR perspective 🙁 and if people are looking for a utopian world where we deal with each encounter on a case by case basis then they are dreaming as people love to stereotype as ultimately is saves time. Just my 2c but always play nice 😉

oh I got so carried away ranting I forgot to say props to the car, looks mad 🙂

Good luck in court Ancient Bugger but I hope your not pinning your hopes on what Qld Transport tells you.

To top that off the video you have of the Police doing same will have no bearing on your sons case, as the evidence is unfortunately inadmissible as it has nothing to do with your son's case. Section 305 of the Australian Road Rules also creates exemptions for emergency services vehicles. If the ARR don't apply in Qld there will be some piece of similiar legislation.

I will admit that getting a ticket for not indicating leaving a roundabout when going straight ahead is pretty petty, but don't hang your hopes on poor advice and irrelevant evidence. Unfortunately all the Police will need to do is prove what your son did, show it is against the relevant law and that's pretty much it. The old chestnut of 'everyone else does it' doesnt obviate your son's liability in this regard.....sorry

If the copper in question is behaving in a vindictive or malicious fashion then you should make an official complaint about his behaviour.

Like I say, good luck in Court. If he gets off then all well and good, but my advice would be to pay the ticket and be done with it. It will cost a lot more than $45 to fight it and if/when you lose there will be the additional impost of court costs etc. I have seen $200 tickets turn into over $1000 when unsuccessfully defended in court

I have no idea of what 555Bug is talking about, as the whole thing doesn't make sense.

And in hindsight I'm guessing the biggest problem Hertz will have is the splaying of the rear wheels. I'm pretty sure that would fail inspection. The rest looks fantastic

hope your running sealed wheel bearings or you will grind to a halt and that would not be cool. good luck with the machinery inspection. notched plates change camber reaction points and will more than likely fail (at what speed?) due to metal fatigue at the introduced stress points added to the plate. 🙁
