Thank you all very much for the kind words, car was found by the police unscathed in a shopping centre carpark and it appears nothing has been stolen at this stage. We are still having it fingerprinted and checked for any possible mechanical damage etc...Thanks to all of you! Let this be a lesson to all of you.
:bounce
UPDATE:
Police were convinced it was definitely not joyriders, they think the thief has access to this forum and got cold-feet. Where it was found and based on the recent weather activity and all other forensic stuff, suggests it was tucked away somewhere 'nice'(garaged/storage) before it was dumped.
So....gutter scum does exist on this forum.......would love to know who it is,must be someone REALLY pathetic..

Good new Al. Glad its all turned out OK. Interesting that the Police think it wasnt joyriders.
We all had better be a bit more aware of posting our street address details on here I guess.

I agree...
more than 1 occasion i have worried at night of some idiot i pissed off on the forum knocking on my door with a gun...
as well as my stuff out the back being stolen... my car has no doors...
But anyways, congrats mate. I bet u will always be double checking to make sure its locked. I hope i don't get into that situation, if i did, and came out like ay, would end up taking the wheels off and putting the car on blocks every night its in the drive way... lol

You didn't know this already ????????
Am glad to hear that your dub is back safe and sound. Nothing peeves me more than ppl who think that they have the right to help themselves to someone elses property! Hope if this person is reading this thread they realise what a beating they will get from angry Vdub owners if caught!
🤘
should let the cops fingerprint us all, and see who chickens out... maybe DC is still shitty that we hate him and came back for desert 😉

Great news hope all is intact
and many years of happy motoring to come 👍
If it was taken from a place that wasn't it's usual address it's more likely to be a random thing. S'ones spotted it, nicked it, finished with it.

that place was a fellow V-dubbers place though wasnt it? maybe they were after the beetle instead but the wagon was easier to get to?

together again....
Well i take it you aren't selling it anymore. That was a waste of a day/flight/car hire! Fricken theives.
Glad you got it back ok in the end.
Let me know first if you plan to sell it again. Keep it on a leash till then 😁
Cheers,
Michael
tehe, nice last pic, i always marvel at how small the type 3 wagons really are when you put them next to 'real' cars, i cruise with the back seat down in mine because carry lots of junk and when i put the back seat up the boot almost looks comical. 😀
