Gotta say, I nuked my factory fit Type 4 2 litre. Snapped a valve guide in No 1 - it did a rumble into No2. No 3 sunk a valve seat. Rough pricing for me to rebuild it properly was £1K (UKP). I had a spare set of 2 litre Type 4 heads too.crewcabconnection wrote:Pete, spoke to the chief today ... given that I don't have a motor in the 75 Microbus I just got, and decent T4s seem to be thin pickins - who wants to spend a grand or so fitting an anchor ... then defo gonna go with the EJ22 in it. As usual, he's got some 'ideas', as he's had a few Sube buses through in the last 12 months, which he thought could have been done better for a number of reasons...so guess the search is on ... gather the bits and off we go.
Can't wait ... not sure if to drop it or raise it at this point. One things for sure, sitting in the middle is too ordinary for me.
I've done over 200,000 ks in Subarus ... I really like the idea of going up hills and not having to do more than change the oil every year....rebuild a 2.0 T4?, why?
