Hi everyone, I am over it all. I gave recieved an email from them sayiny the plates went over with the car and they get thrown away. It just shows that word from the mouth don't believe. It leaves me in limbo that the car is stll in my name, as I have already done my bit by the LAW.
Like to thank you all for your concerns.

That sucks big time, he is just merely profiteering.
You think you are selling your loved kombi to someone who will love it in return, only to find they only want to make money out of your generosity. Worse thing, its leaving the country...
I can totally understand where you are coming from cruising 69!

Where there is money involved people are always going to get shafted. I worked with a guy who won lotto in the early 80's. He bought 2 V8 berlina commodores, one wagon, one sedan, same colour, one for him, one for the wife. Nobody was more fastidious with their cars than Alvaro. You never saw them dirty. A few years later he decided to sell the sedan, Sold it dirt cheap to another guy I worked with as they were good mates. Then the prick turned around and sold it for $1000 more the very next month. That was 20 years ago, $1000 was a pretty big deal.
With the prices VW's seem to go for over in the UK, its surprising that there are a few people who want to do the reverse and bring them out here.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....DME:L:LCA:UK:11.. Look I found it... Sold on Ebay UK... Oh well at list a chick is driving it.

It's real shame to think this guy is so dishonourable by not returning the plates.
These things will come back to haunt him. It's Karma!
Spread the word and don't sell to this guy.
OK TO ALL KOMBI OWNERS DO NOT SELL TO A GUY CALLED SHANE. HE WILL JUST MAKE MORE MONEY OUT OF YOUR CAR AND TAKE WHAT EVER IS STILL ON IT THAT YOU WANT RETURNED. IT WILL LEAVE AUSTRALIAN BORDERS
I REST MY CASE.!!!

Hey, if he pays me what I am asking, who am I to worry. If I sell it with parts on it I want, I should have taken them off before selling.
This is the real world we are talking about isn't it?
If he then on sells it ANYWHERE for any amount it is not mine any more so where do I get off being critical?
So if the no overseas rule applies does that mean I can't buy one form OS? Or buy parts from OS?
some of you folks need to get out more
And what about when he is surrposed to transfer into his name. Did you think about that. RTA has no documantatio to say it has left Aust. Still in my name...
:puke:beer
Hang on
When you sell a car in NSW you fill out the top piece of the rego papers and send it in to the RTA. ie Notice of Disposal.
That has his drivers licence name and address.
It is now registered in his name and is all his.
If he does not send in his details with in 14 days he has a problem.
If you have sent this in it will not be in your name anymore.
If he doesnt send it in it will be deregistered.
Nothing really wrong with that. just like letting a car run out of rego.
I assume you have sent this piece of paper in??

Futue te ipsum!!!
Yes I have but RTA Only have my details. They have sent a letter to him but no Reply. As I keep saying the car is still listed as an Australian vehicle and the only details they have are mine.. I have spoken to ppl beyond the RTA and they said If a vehicle leaves Aust. it needs to be reported. RTA know nothing about this.
Great the car has gone OS and I should get over it.. But when someone buys a car you think they do the right thing by handing in the plates and Transfering it in to there name instead of buying it and Shipping it OS the next day.

But surely you have done "the right thing" as far as the RTA are concerned? If he hasn't met his end of the requirements by putting the vehicle in his name with the RTA, then that becomes his problem? It's not your responsibility to ensure he meets his end of the requirements??
Thats true. With the Number plates though my bad by not putting them in hold....
You never trust a buyer or I won't again.
:puke:beer
You'll just have to put it down to a lesson learned 😉
He wouldn't transfer it into his name as he would have to pay stamp duty etc (in Vic anyway) and If I was exporting a car I wouldn't pay that either. The thing is if you have filled out your end of the paperwork you are in the clear. If it is OS then it is not racking up camera fines all over the shop either.
If there are sour grapes because of exporting and onselling then too bad. Did you get the PO's consent to change the station on the radio or fit an aftermarket accessory or 2?
What is good for the goose eh?

If you wait long enough do you think the blue and yellow emoticons above will vomit at the same time?? :P :P
Sorry...not taking the piss at your expense C69. I get where you're coming from 😉
