It could be very old and very Rare....
and butt ugly too...
but many of the early Aussie fibreglass bodied VWs from the 50s were ugly as ....
still part of history...

Is work being done on it??
or does it look like its neglected??
Anyone know whether it would fit on a VW chassis??
although if it didn't, the original chassis would possibly still be there....

It looks to me like it was meant for a beetle floorpan, but someone has cut it to fit onto a shortened pan to perhaps make it look a little bit better.

I've been told it's a Kalita?? It was cut up to transport and from memory it was posted on AVD some time a go.Looks the same as the one i had some time ago.Built for a shortened pan.Perhaps cut for a standard pan??? Someone here knows.......Here's the one I had...

maybe it's a mk2 carlita or something, coz the ones I know look quite different to that...
here's Hel-70Y's carlita...
Here's another carlita that belongs to another mate of mine...
Well geez Pete ...."carlita" and Kalita seem different...mine was registered and was done as a "Kalita" which was on the rego papers. The one in question was on this site last year sometime...I think someone wanted to buy it or had just bought it???? A search might reveal for those interested.I do remember the previous owner had cut it in half to transport it on a box trailer?? Who knows...🥲
