As a bass player you'll like what I picked up only yesterday. (Must be guitar buying season). Mark Hoppus Fender Precision in Surf Green, (always wanted a Surf Green bass), with Jazz Alder body, Seymour Duncan "Basslines" beefy split pick up and one pot only....volume!
Lovely old school grunt there. My bro in law has a 70s precision. Poor old thing has been quite knocked about...but the sound it puts out is stunning. It's quite crazy that a single pickup instrument could have so many different sounds, but there you go. I spose it depends what music your hands make. I don't blame you for going without a tone dial, I think I've used mine about twice. The rest of the time it's set flat out and the best sounds you get out an electric instrument is with the volume flat out too. Have fun, I bet it sounds great. I guess you grind it with a pick if you're into blink. What amp are you playing it through?
Lohoon, sounds like you made a score. Les Pauls are worth upwards of $4k in good nic these days as I understand. And I prefer soapbars too. My bro has a 1958 ES125t with them. Nicer than humbuckers I reckon.
Mrscooter, it's kinda funny. Never thought I'd end up a fender endorsee but here I am, precision in one hand and a tele in the other. I guess I'm getting old and sentimental. I can take or leave strats though, nice guitars, but they don't do anything for me. I'd love a valve amp, but if I asked for one at the mo I'd be finding a new place to sleep. The missus is not entirely happy about the tele.
I'll try and take a pic of my fenders so you can all have a perve.
