as many of you may have read I am in the planning stages of a car show to be held at the beginning of 2008. it is going to be a melbourne show celebrating a wide range of vehicles of the chrome bumper period, from all makes and in all styles, stock modified or rat. Basically its about havign a good time and about unity in the car community, and is going to be aimed predominantly at younger owners cos there are more and more young people out there who are really passionate about their rides and they deserve a chance to celebrate that.
now I need your help. I need you all to vote for the name of the event. this will be combined with the votes on other forums to help decide the name of the event. also if you have any last second suggestions feel free to post them and i could just ad them to the list.

it should be aimed at ALL AGES that enjoy their early cars, most clubs have a diverse range of ages ,
we all should be celebrating our passion for chrome
bumper rides,

no-one should feel excluded.......

Hi Ponybeetle, I dont mean for anyone to feel excluded from this event, but events I have been to recently, the majority of car owners have been over 50 and for a range of reasons (being too young, not having owned my car for long enough, not having enough cylinders, having replaced the original spark plug leads...) I have been made to feel less worthy or even unwelcome.
(This sort of a thing is far less of an issue in the VW community and i have a lot of respect for vdub owners for that)
Because of these encounters and the growing number of people I know who have been meeting online and in person who are in similar positions to me either in age or the style of vehicle that they own, i decided that rather then the average show organised by 60 year olds to their tastes with those much younger trying to fit in, it would be far more fun to have a group of young people organise a show that will really suit us and all others are more then welcome.

oh yeah, incase no-one figured it out, if you wanted to abbreviate Melborg or Bust, you could have M.O.B Fest
