If you decide at the last minute, to come up for a look,
you can always fly into Coolangatta and come up with me.
Sorry guys!!!!!!
Thanks Dave, thats where I stayed last year just in tweed walking distance to Coolie. I have family there and it's a good excuse to go visit them and shit is there VW drag racing on? haha
I will start planning for next year now, maybe then I will make it.
I tried to get the Junka ready for the VW clubs day at Heathcote but I didn't make it. So went out on Sunday to test a few things out. Needless to say it was a step in the wrong direction because it was very lazy out of the hole going over 1sec slower to half track!!!
Hey Nick , great to see the Junka out on the track again mate . From the incar footage I am very impressed at just how stable your bug is at 130mph , as this was very evident by the lack of corrections being placed on the steering wheel in the braking area . My oval danced across both lanes in the braking area last time I ran it on the quarter .
It is also great to see the new cage has been fitted . I have just fitted a cage to the oval and find the launch from the start line to be much straighter and with little twist in the body . I am going to take the oval to WSID in a few weeks time for its first run down the quarter with the new cage and wing . Will let you know how it goes mate .
Really wished that you could have made it to Warrick this year , it was a blast !! Hope to see you there next year .
you will probably want to convert the file to an avi but the site can handle that also, if you can't be bothered download VLC media player as it can play .fla files.

ok I have put it up for you, once my ISP discovers this it will no doubt be removed so get in quick. You will need a player that can handle a flv file i.e. VLC media player
glad you could enjoy it. The vid was the best thing that came out of that waste of a day.
Because we are moving shops time is very valuable to me right now and I can't afford to waste time going backwards.
Not sure if I will even go racing until next year so that might be the only vid for a while.
Not the junka but I just finished a video of Johns car and I thought you guy would like it. No time for racing so videos are the next best thing??? sad hey??
Dasdubber wrote:Cool vid Nick - sounds like a short first gear (any specs?) or was it just a short shift due to getting a little squirrely off the line?
Are you able to share any info about the engine - no probs if not.
Alan
Hi Alan,
3.78
2.31
1.43
1.04
4.12 r&p
It's a street car so the ratios are not perfect.
The engine is mild.
76x 94
5.4 rods
112 lobe C
044 ported by VA
1.5'' headers
T3 with a larger front
power to 6k
14psi=140rwkw
Draw through EFI microtech LTX8
single 1700cc injector
ford TB
It has had one freshen up in ten years. The only thing needed was a new set of 044's, the old ones were a bit sad and we switched from a side draft 45 W to efi.
It has gone through a few gearboxes and clutch combos but has been VERY reliable.
Very inovative using a single injector. I always wondered how well that would work. I was going to do a simular thing using a single 1500cc as a staged injector for a turbo'd v8 I was working on a while ago.
Does it have a rough idle at all? I figured getting the pulse width small enough to idle nicely and with a good AFR might have been an issue.
Hey guys,
I have a week left until I need to load the trailer and head on up to Warwick.
Entry is paid for and accommodation is sorted, but the car still need a LOT of work.
We were originally going to leave the junka behind and head on up with Stylin and Mark's
green slime but BOTH of them are struggling to get time off work so they are not coming up.
