You find yourself always relating conversation back to VW related items, when the original topic was not.
when the forum is the first thing you do in the morning after reading the trading post, and the last thing before you go to bed after "having to buy " that bargain vw out of the paper to add to the other 5 bargain projects in your backyard, neighbours yard parents yard etc...
instead of doing skool work your posting in the A.V.D forums, and even when you get kicked out you still manage to get your hands on a computer to continue posting/reading
when 100% of your time is spent either on the forum or working on VW's and couldnt be bothered to do a major assessment to pass year 10 and get ur SC!!
or when your back yard starts to look like a wreckers and your shed is being extended without the council knowing of any such plans!!!
or when one project just aint enough and u end up with 12 VW's waiting to be restored
or when u sell both fords and just drive VW's!

or when u drive from budapest hungary all the way upto wolfsburg in a VW in a day just to see a VW museum on the last day of your trip!! (something like 1500 kms)

* when you start trying to convince your parents that a kombi is a much better choice than a new car because you can fix it for them.
* when you start buying your dub presents like toys and smelly things.
* when you have inadvertently gotten your partner hooked on vw's too.
* any trip to the car gets you both started in how in a few years its going to get upgraded from 1 to 2 webbers, and how it would look nicer with so and so type of paint, or something along those lines.
once you get the dub bug, theres no turning back!😀
#thirty something - when your partner says, 'look kombi/ bug/ beetle/ hotty volksy/ etc' long after you saw it, but thought you wouldn't bother telling them because they wouldn't be interested..

When you are driving along and spend way more time looking on the other side of the road for other VWs than on your own side. (aparently this is a dangerous exerscise....?)
When you spend over $50 a month on vw magazines.
When you sit at home every friday and sataday night working on a vw rather than going out with ya mates.
When you SMELL VW Grease on your hands, after working 8 hours on sortin VW Stuff, n deciding wether to keep it or chuck it out with the other 30 ton or so thats already been chucked out.

...when you're towing your baja behind your Dad's ute at a 100 klicks cause you don't wanna leave it three hours away and do without it for a week...😀 ( going down cunningham's gap with drum brakes trying not to hit a ute 1.5 meters away is tricky:o😀)

when visiting tourist attractions in other countries u have to stop and take photos of VWs in the carpark (while there is astonishing cathederal/castles and history) just inside the entrance
