I was wondering if anybody is interested in sharing some special mix fuel for the dyno run on the 19th.
20l cost about $100 and needs to be ordered by this friday. It is a racing blend of 105 RON with some pretty complex formulation that is meant to aid in its oxygen carrying capacity....= more hp!

why not just run on pump 98 octane ?.......................I doubt that "special" fuel would create more HP unless you have a compression ratio to suit.....but I could be wrong.
I think its better to see what your motor is capable of achieving without the special stuff, just 100% street available fuel..............but each to their own I guess 👍
If you do use the special fuel, would be good to see some comparisons of HP between it and pump fuel. I guess you would have to drain the tank and refill.
$5 per litre.......about what we will be paying next year for fuel 😂
Fair points guys, I certainly realise that dyno runs using 98 first would be the go, on a comparison basis, but incase you didnt realise, this is technically a competition, so maybe people want to aim for MAX HP. The guy that blends the stuff recommends with 2-3deg extra timing you will make more power. That being said, I was only offering what has already been offered to me.
Shell offering 100 octane? Which pump is that, 98?

Shell offer the V-Power racing which is 100oct
at a few selected sites.
It is a ethonol blend but only 5%.
some people ovoid using ethonol products, but i would say try it, Its only a 5% blend, not 10% like everyone elses.
Ethonol burns hotter, giving you an increase in performance.
Well thats the general feedback i am getting from it.
We use it in our cars
You can pic some up at kessels road Mt gravatt or compton road Runcorn on the south side heading to the dyno day.

The sg of this stuff is meant to be .776, which is close to unleaded, so I'm told. [yet to find sg of the bowser fuel]
Aparently if the sg is the same, your old fasion carbs deliver the same amount of fuel, its the octane [amount of oxygen] that makes the performance increase.
When I set up my efi drag engine in 94, I did some comparison tests between av gas and super and the actual fuel maps hardly changed.
I realise we dont want to have lean conditions occur, but I doubt if every engine is tuned that close to perfect, that it would make it, or break it !!!

or women.............don't be sexist 😂
no way is it a chick...
every day that little man in the geko box is up at 6 and ready to work, goes hard all day and then sits in the shed all night waiting for 6 the next day to do it all over again.. No way in hell is any woman going to do that ....
Craig Torrens wrote:the women was up at 5 to make the little mans breakfast 👍
Man trust me when I say my little woman aint getting up at 5 to make breaky, hell she wouldn;t get up at all if Stu didn;t start screaming after I leave for work ...
