The plot thickens - he trades on ebay as:

has anyone else dealt with him? - still having trouble tracking him down.....
🙁
anyone given him anything black and blue yet ?
The bad news is that E-bay tends to deal with the created identities in these matters (from experience, they will at least send threatening letters.)
The good news is, the government have set up a Task-Force to deal with internet fraud. Have your German friend pass on all details to them - It sounds like this crook was clever enough to avoid the 8 years he deserves, but he'll never be able to do it again with them watching.
Guy, has traded on eBay for quite some time as that name.. As I have said before, I bought my venetian through him and was very pleased and it went smooth and all, so obviously this has changed since..
After going through this exercise (I finally contacted the Seller direct). This blind was sold as a NOS blind & of course it was a repro - there was several emails before the purchase to confirm this (I have copies). Allegedly the first one was "lost in the mail", the 2nd one one was sent out of "goodwill" by the sender via post, and of course it was a repro. This was returned by the German back to the Australian, the German paying the post back. The Seller has decided not to refund any money back.
The German is out $285 USD & has no blinds or refunds
Moral of the story:
If buying from overseas, use insured, registered post, and ask the seller to keep the receipt (in this case, there is no proof the item was sent or received). Otherwise you have no grounds for action with the Australian Internet Fraud squad.
Unfortunately, the word is spreading through the German clubs "beware of buying from Australians, they will rip you off" as the last two people caught are fairly high profile in the European VW scene....🙁
This person has ruined our relations with the Germans, why some people have to be dishonest and rip others off, is beyond me! I hope he suffers some serious Karma.
I would be willing to put in some money, to at least give the Germans their money back! and I would sign a petition to say that we in Australia are NOT happy about this persons behaviour, and are doing our best to expose them, we could add an apoligy at least on our behalf, mabe this would at least go some way to restoring our good reputation!

Another moral to this story is: Don't send cash in the mail. It is illegal in Australia and most civilised countries, and anyone who asks for it is almost certainly a crook like this guy - the old "lost in the mail" bit, huh? There was no way to prove the money was ever received and the guy was lucky to even get a repro out of him!
Rob, I think you have just effectively signed a petition saying that you aren't happy about what happened. :thumb
I don't think any of us are happy about it, but most of us are powerless to do anything about it. 🙁
Has anybody managed to talk to this guy recently?
Kruizin Kol
Hate to start up a topic that was dead a long time ago and was not the most pleasant, but.... how can you tell if a rear venetian is the original artical or a reproduction????
What is an original worth as opposed to a repro??
I am talking type 3's here by the way.

if its OG it has a VW part no on it
The origionals were spot welded.
The guy you are looking for has a last name of Swanson. I think you can figure the rest out.

If the originals were spot welded, how do they put the copies together??
The originals had different methods of mounting them. U2U me and I'll send U a pic of an original.
Hi
I hope this issue has been sorted. Reminds me of the guy that sold the Heb many times to overseas buyers.
I bought some parts from Ebay UK, the vendor gave me a DHL tracking number so I could keep up with the package. I had the parts sent to my neighbours UK office and I was able to tell him who signed for the package and when it arrived. This was very painless.
