i maybe off course a but im pretty sure u would only need to put the shorter input shaft in the gearbox to suit the 1600 needle bearing

cos they all share the same bolt pattern, ring gear and throw out bearing

You can keep everything except the input shaft as Joel says.

Some keep the input shaft and just shorten the end.
This works but is hard to make it look nice, without removing it from thr trans and doing it in a lathe.

If you want a "worked 1600" from some other manufacturer, like toyota or nissan,
then yes an adapter plate might be required.

I have a 2 litre box in my van with a 1600 (002) bellhousing and input shaft. 200mm clutch. No problems.

Apologies for my misleading post.... I removed it.... the kit stuff from John Sherman I was refering to had to do with my racecar.... which needed the box to be flipped upside down so we could transverse mount the gearbox to the engine. The ring gear is offset.... long story.... anyways.... carry on!!! LOL
