Hi - I need to remove the entire pedal assembly from my 56 oval (need to replace floor pans). I thought this would be a straight forward job? I have unbolted every bolt I can see and the whole thing is loose. To remove, it appears that I have to take out the shaft that the accelerator pedal is attached too, but on the left side of the tunnel is the arm that attaches to the cable - on the right side of the entire assembly is the accel pedal which appears fixed?? Any help would be much appreciated!

Let the clutch cable adjustment go,remove the 2 bolts on the L/H/S,remove the accelerator cable link, brake push rod,the 2 bolts mounting the cluster and then the pedal cluster should come out with a little jiggling.Sorry forgot to mention to let the clutch cable go on the pedal link in the tunnel.

Job done! Thanks for the input. The accel pedal was almost fused onto the removable shaft that goes through the tunnel. With a lot of lubricant and patience this was eventually removed which free the whole assembly.
