Hi Guys

What total timing do you guys run on your modified bugs. Its a 1660 with heads and mild cam. Hoping one of you have dynoed a similar setup and know what total timing your running.

Are VW's like most other carbed engines, 32 or 34 degrees total about right.

Thanks Trev

Hi

I wouldn't go over 32, maybe even 30. What sort of dizzy are you using?

Steve

using a 009 dizzy [mechanical only]

I have mine at 32 degrees...

stock single port 1600 engine... running standard unleaded..

runs great...

I have been told that 28 degrees should be the maximum
for a 009 mechanical dizzy....??

I used to run premium fuel....

goes just as good with normal unleaded...
