HI

The question is whether this is possible, has anyone done it, and what does it involve?

I have some new 15" Fuchs wheels to fit to the SC and do not want to go for a tyre size that ends up increasing my revs at a said speed. I had some 205/70/15 fitted for the rears and they don't make it under the rear guards. The front look great with 205/65/15 though.
With the 205/65 my speedo is only 0.4 mph out at 60mph
The 205/70 rears will drop my revs by approx 80rpm at 100kmh.

Any help is appreciated.

Since you have a single-cab, you don't have the normal problem with Kombis of the sliding door clearaing the guards, so you could get the guards nudged out a bit; it's one of the (many) advantages of single and double cabs.

Thanks for the reply Luke.
Have you (or can you) put up the work/process involved in doing this?
I don't need to go quite as far as you have (am only looking for around 30mm inwards) but am somewhat keen.

There ya go Marcus....you'll have to trade in a pair of those wheels for some 7's ....or are they 8's??? just to make it worth while 🙂 Looks awesome Luke.

I am opting for the custom wheel manufacture instead.
Test fitment in a couple of weeks with 8"s on the rear all being well 😁

try using ford or toyota as they will go on but this is just to see what fit best in offsets
than you can order what ya want

A guy in Brisbane called Race Engineering still does rim modification.
Late bay steel centres with 15*8 drop steel rims at around $230 per rim.
That is with me supplying the original wheel and he supplies the band, fits it and then I get to paint/powdercoat it.
