However if I drive it around and eventually stop and turn it off next time I go to start it within a few hours of last starting it it appears to be flooded. it takes awhile longer to start and the smell fuel and puff of smoke come from the exhaust sometimes.
I have tried 2 new needle valves also tried a few washers under the needle valve to contact the float earlier its got new fuel pump and recent carby kit installed. If it sits for say 12-24 hours it st🤓arts almost instantly. Any tips on this one Guys?
Thanks
Have You checked down the throat of the carby to see if the fuel is overflowing..
You can shim the pump to get the correct PSI..
OR file, grind the pushrod...

PS: when an engine is flooded...
You hold the accelerator pedal to the floor to start it...
normally it will start...
also fill the bowl of the carby up..
disconnect the fuel pump to see if it is the pump...
the engine should go until the bowl is dry...
