Guys, rnrnIt is $40.00.rnThat is nothing, when comes to the cost of pursuing our Classic VW hobby.rnrnThink of all the benefits of selling/swapping parts @ the Nationals.rnrn1 - All those VW enthusiasts trawling your stall.rn2 - Not having to take photos and uploading them to various sites.rn3 - Not having to organise postage and handling.rn4 - Receiving payment, immediately.rn5 - Location, location, location.rnrn40 bucks, it is worth it for the convenience and easier advertising.rnrnZayusrnrnNote: I am not affliated with Club VeeDub, although, I have been to plenty of their shows.rnAnd, I did prefer the old outdoor site @ Parklea, to the current site @ Fairfield. rnThere is nothing quite like the shine of a vintage VW or a hot Cal-Looker under sunshine and blue skies.rnrn
OH WELL SAID
I might increase the price
just for fun
and see who winges and dosent even want to have a stand
yeah Parklea was a good site but we ran out of room and we are getting close at Fairfield but theres NOT TOO Many choices
HOW much money will some of the swappers go home in there pockets
vw54 wrote:I might increase the price

so its your decision
personally I don't care about the cost as i wont be going anyway
Keeping it real !
HOW much money will some of the swappers go home in there pockets
Exactly, I know one of the dudes grizzling on here took home over $700.00 last year,
🤪
Its a good value day out, you don't get much for 40 bucks these days, who's been to the easter show this year?

So much for a committee deciding the prices.......sounds like its run by a little megalomanic/dictator. Hope the books get audited regularly.

Do you want my bank details or do you prefer paypal
😂
I said
almost...
Tell you what, as $40 is too steep I'll lend you guys 20 bucks so you can do your VW stall thing. All you have to do is agree on here to pay me back 5 bucks per week for the next 5 weeks and everyone's happy!
😉
Cheers,

What a load of nonsense, absolutely nothing constructive in this topic.
On one side guys complaining about spending well worth $40 for swap stand inc. entry in a well organized show (which makes them sound like tight asses)
On the other side an organizer complaining about the complainers and throwing smart remarks instead of motivating them into coming to the show.
Let's put the bullshit aside and try to make this a really cool awesome event, cause its the patrons and their cars that make the day fun,
all the organizers can and have done in the past to their credit is to actually put a good show ON.
bitten by the bug..........several times
yep I don't think I'll go now as the swap price is too steep
greedy capitalist clubs doing it for the $.. FFS

I used to love going to the Bargo swap meet for years until some bloke tripped over leaving a porta loo and sued them for $100k and the club went bankrupt because they didnt have insurance
they all moaned when they killed off the drags at the nats but we all know that no-one would actually pay the entry fee to pay for it ! WSID cost lots more to hire than Fairfield showground
I am pretty certain that the supersprint has cost the club money every year also
when you look at how much space a swap meet space takes up compared to a car in the show its not bad value plenty of people must agree spending hundreds in fuel to get there
If you cant justify it dont do it
value for money is a concept VW people dont really get! why else would you be spending porsche money on Kombis
I think the song goes......."you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone".
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!
The bargo swap was a good one,i didnt know thats why it stopped thanks for the info,i still go to a few swapmeets when i can.
cheers shane.

is the price of a club vw swapmeet stall really the hottest topic in the Australian VW scene? Might be time to go and by a barina for some excitement.
No...... the topic is why they are the dearest of ALL the other car club swaps meets.

probably because its in Sydney which is apparently the 19th most expensive city in the world. Does that mean that the topic is now closed?
for alot of people this is the one show a year that you get to attend suck it up have you taken the kids to the movies lately?
dont see the problem like already mentioned free classifieds on here if you are running a business thats how it is the show gets better every year my kids loved painting the bug and themselves last year everything costs money it cant be avoided👍
No...... the topic is why they are the dearest of ALL the other car club swaps meets.
probally because of the cost involved in putting the show on
that would make it dearer that the other shows for a swap site simple
well what would you rather the show out in the park no cover no nothing and a cheap swap meet or what we've got now its been a long haul from the hawksberry days for the sake of 40 bucks i think were doin ok
lets see,
diesel from Bris to Sydney in the TDI T5 $130
coffee and donuts along the way $25
tolls and govt taxes $40
entry to the show and swap site $40
reading this thread......PRICELESS!

Seconded!
This thread is pretty funny...
🤓
Here's an idea for the RoM.
Charge everyone $40 because obviously they are going to save money at the swap meet (and they live in Sydney and are used to being fleeced) by not paying retail and GST, so it's win-win money spinner.👍👍🤪
