Hi Brian,

Thanks for the advice.

I'm going to check the top float level with a cardboard template. I'm going to check the distance to the needle and seat from the top of the carb with a tread depth gauge. Then I'm going to use copper washers for the banjo fittings and lock wire the bolt so it doesn't come loose.

Cheers.

this link may help

Understanding what transition is and how it works in the Weber IDF and Dellorto DRLA carburetor. These principles do apply to some other models with similar architecture, such as IDA, DCNF, DCOE, etc.

car forums. where a lot of peoples good intentions end up taking a good old car off the road forever never ever to see the road again. 🥲

The engine idles smoothly and pulls hard right through the rev range. I was surprised. The IDAs feel almost the same as the IDFs. I'm a happy camper. But I'll see how they go in Sydney traffic on Friday. Then on the freeway to Goulburn. Then at Wakefield Park on Saturday. They're so cool. Fingers crossed.

That sounds like a good idea to run the berg linkage.
Coolest old skool set up going around is the look of idas and a berg linkage imho
