If i disconnect one lead that should be fine to test?1303Steve wrote:Hi
Try disconnecting the charging system, that maybe where the noise is coming from. If that fixes it you may need a suppressor on the charging circuit

Does the noise go up and down with engine revs??68AutoBug wrote:Does the noise go up and down with engine revs??
make sure everything is earthed well..
separate perfect earth connections on everything..
means scratching the paint off under each connection..
also, could try attaching an earth lead to the distributor or engine..
check the earth strap at the nose of the gearbox to chassis..
Your spark plug leads - are they resistance type or wire type?
I'm guessing You have a low resistance spark plug lead system
beetles normally have a resistor in the distributor rotor plus in those bits that sit on the spark plugs.. but I'm guessing its an earthing issue... which is being picked up by Your amplifier etc,,
cheers

new motors don't have a lot of pressure to get rid of.😊Paulc1964au wrote:Isn't the hose between the carby and case sufficient?rabidbeetle wrote:Looks amazing Paul, notice that vintage didn't fit a breather box setup for additional breathing to releive crankcase pressure
