Hope to get it registered before Christmas.

My 'spare' 356 engine now has a new home, so it should get along nicely.....has 356 brakes to match.

Steve, I spent a lot of time over those colours. The blue is a Mercedes colour called....wait for it...'DARK BLUE' ❗

Side panels are VW...New Beetle 'HARVEST MOON".

Is that a tacho in the dash centre , and if so is it a VDO unit that matches the speedo or something else

It's a VDO tacho, ex. 356. It does match something else.....the 356 engine and brakes.😁

Remember when I managed to get hold of a Cabriolet semaphore [very rare], and the bitch at US customs made me pull all my parts apart, and tested them for explosives.🤪
