If the angle on the end of the couplers grub screw doesn't match that of the angle of the locating hole in the hockey stick then you won't get very positive grip between the screw and hole. If the coupler to hockeystick fit isn't very snug then you'll get slop.x275 wrote:The ball on the end of my shifter has no pin..
There is a small amount of side to side movement where the hockey stick connects to the billet coupler.. It sounds as if the rattle is coming from up front but it could be travelling down. I'll start at the back again and recheck everything.
Cheers.

Haha, funny that cos the 'brand new' VW coupler I bought a while back had so much slop in the cage that I ended up cutting and re-welding the cage into a square that the bushes fitted snuggly in. Hey presto, I nice slick gearshift 😀x275 wrote:turns out it was the where the hockey stick connects to the coupling, too much slop.. fitted an o ring between them and problem solved.. I must have bought a very "high" quality billet coupler..
